Résumé : |
Most people are aware that the traditional values of Christendom arc under attack from the New Morality; but few are aware how far the New Morality has spread and to what extent its advocates have infiltrated important mass media of communication like the B.B.C.
This documented book is already in its 50th thousand. It was the first review of the whole New Moralist battle line from Dr Alex Comfort to the Bishop of Woolwich. Now, in this enlarged and up-to-date edition, it brings in the more recent writings of the clerical new moralists, and it also examines the fashionable theories of secularists like Lord Kennet, Mr Girodias and the advocates of the Theatre of Cruelty. A new chapter describes the publication ‘Sex and Morality’ and another deals with those who are introducing secularist ideas into the Roman Catholic Church. It records what each is saying and examines their effect upon the thought and action of modern Britain. It also suggests what the end result of the New Morality could be in terms of industrial prosperity, national security and the survival of Britain as a great nation. ‘Have Christians Lost Their Nerve ?’ was the title of an article by Philip Toynbee. There is evidence that a concerted attack is being prepared upon the moral foundations of our country and that too many Christians are appeasing the ideas behind that attack. This book provides the necessary information for those who are not prepared to let the case for the old morality go by default. Sir Arnold Lunn is a Catholic and Mr Lean is an Anglican. The book is offered as a contribution, to that concerted defence of Christian values which is in accord with the ecumenical spirit of the age. |
