Résumé : |
How do children learn and grow in faith? What can be learned from the nurture principles expressed in the Old and New Testaments? How can local churches today build their own programs to reflect theological imperatives and the insights to be gained from the behavioral sciences? Questions like these are asked and answered in this book by Dr. Larry Richards, author of many widely used texts on the educational mission of the church.
This quality book on ministry with children is based on sound biblical theology that is truly integrated with psychological research. Dr. Richards has carefully gleaned and systematically presented the principles of the Old and New Testaments that relate to nurture of children, but that is only the foundation of the book. He has then built upon that foundation a complete theology of ministry with children that leads the student to an understanding of the way children develop intellectually, socially, and morally. All of this biblical and social-psychological research is then carefully integrated with the current settings of ministry with children in the home, the church, and the Christian school. The book also speaks to various critical issues relating to ministry with children. |
