Résumé : |
The church, according to the author of this book, is faced with two major problems: development of a proper program of Christian education, and lack of leadership in the local church. Leadership for Church Education confronts these problems head on. The result is an in-depth study of the general principles of administration and management, and their relationship to the task of the local church, particularly the educational program.
Part I deals with the foundations of educational programming in the church. The biblical philosophy of church education is carefully integrated with the organizational aspects of developing an educational program. Part II focuses on the lack of local church leadership. The author explores the nature of leadership, describes the duties of the leader within the context of the church, and deals with the problem of leadership training on the local church level. The result of personal experience and thorough research. Leadership for Church Education is carefully organized and footnoted, and includes a substantial bibliography. A major book in its field, it is destined to become an outstanding reference book both in the classroom and on the local level. |
