Résumé : |
A "dead church" is an impossibility. If it is dead, it is not a church. If it is a church, it must be alive.
Yet why do so many "churches" appear dead? To answer this question. John Williams goes back to the New Testament to discover there the secrets of the life and power of the early Christian Church and why it is that so many modern "churches” bear so little resemblance to it. The answer is, as we might expect, a return to the New Testament pattern, its life, vigour, simplicity, and worldwide effectiveness. He has some challenging things to say about the responsibility of ordinary Christians to make "the pattern" work as effectively as it did in those early days when the Church turned the world upside-down. |
