Résumé : |
Evangelicals must creatively bring their doctrine of biblical inerrancy to bear on new theological questions and hermeneutical constructions. This conviction, embraced by the fourteen contributors to Inerrancy and Hermeneutic, finds eloquent expression in their essays.
Especially during the last ten years, the contributors, all teachers at Westminster Theological Seminary, have dedicated themselves to exploring “those emerging disciplines of research linked to hermeneutical theory,” writes the editor. “[Their] concern over issues relating to the full trustworthiness of Scripture has not diminished; it has just taken them into new avenues of research.” In Inerrancy and Hermeneutic Westminster professors summarize the results of their research in language that seminarians and nonspecialists can grasp. The result is an exciting volume that stands in the tradition of other books from Westminster faculty on the doctrine of Scripture: The Infallible Word [1946] and Scripture and Confession (1973). |
