Beneath the forms of official Islam lies a whole pattern of related yet different beliefs. The mysterious, colourful world of jinn and the evil eye, saints and festivals is unfamiliac to most Westerners: a universe in flux, full of ‘beings' and 'powers'.
'This book is about weary and burdened human beings,' writes Dr Musk. 'The masses of Muslims live today at two levels. In Part I ten major themes are introduced by a series of short stories, based on actual experience. Only a power encounter with the risen Christ will meet the real needs of Muslims today. |
