Résumé : |
You’ve probably seen many books on the subject of the will of God. You may have even read a few. If so, Garry Friesen’s book will have a familiar and a not so familiar ring to it. Familiar because he examines carefully the major views being presented today. Not so familiar because he rejects those views and proposes a different one — one he believes more accurately reflects the biblical teaching on this vital subject.
Does God have a perfect will for each Christian? Does it matter? Does the Christian have the right to choose and still be in the will of God? Can you be 100% sure of God’s individual will for your life? In an easy-to-follow narrative style, Friesen deals with these questions and shows that God has revealed His commands (His moral will) and we are to obey them. In areas where the Bible gives no command the believer is free to make wise decisions on the basis of Scripture. In all decisions, the believer should humbly submit, in advance, to God’s sovereign will as it touches each decision. Friesen takes up the very practical issues of choosing a mate, picking a life-work, giving of one’s resources, and areas of disagreement between Christians. He uses personal testimonies to illustrate the issues discussed. |
