Résumé : |
Many find difficult to accept the truth and authority of the Bible. They point to the moral problems which are raised not only by the Old Testament but also by the New: for example, war, plague, cursing psalms, and terrible pictures of hell and torment.
In the face of such things, how can we maintain that God is good? The author tells us that this book began as a defensive exercise — as an attempt to answer some very difficult questions about the Bible. But it led him into a deeper understanding of what the goodness of God really means, and so it has become a positive exposition of the character of the living God. |
