The inerrancy debate is more than an academic squabble. In fact, its implications are potentially devastating to the church. Thinking Christians must clearly understand and evaluate the theological contexts of the assumptions on which some scholars base their denial of the inerrancy of Scripture.
Challenges to Inerrancy: A Theological Response is an attempt to answer some of the most influential modern presuppositions that lead to the denial of an inerrant Bible. Twelve leading scholars uncover the roots of the controversy in theological schools of thought from the eighteenth century to the present. The case for biblical inerrancy as developed in the classic Princeton tradition is considered. An epilogue suggests ways that this study can warn and challenge thinkers in the Christian church today. |
