Pathological fear … credulous enthusiasm — the Charismatic Movement seems to provoke extreme reactions. Many people recognise that neither of these responses is adequate. But it will not do to argue blandly for 'wide tolerance' or to say that the truth 'lies somewhere in the middle'. The witness of scripture and recent church history show that the gifts and graces of the Holy Spirit cannot be so easily dismissed.
In this book, Siegfried Grossmann tells the story of the world-wide Charismatic Movement, examines the teaching of the New Testament, and makes practical suggestions about the ways in which individuals and local churches may respond to the Holy Spirit's working.
