Résumé : | The aim of the authors in writing this book has been to help ordinary Christians 'perhaps excited or maybe puzzled by the current charismatic movement' to look again with open minds at what the New Testament teaches about spiritual gifts. The subject is, they recognize, a controversial one, and they do not expect every reader to approve all their conclusions. But the Church cannot afford to close its life to anything that God offers in the way of power and boldness. Nor can it afford to pursue fascinating by-roads which can only exhaust its energies. Perhaps least of all can it afford to create new areas of division amongst those who love Christ and His Gospel. |
