That profound statement came from a man who really knew his Bible. Remembering that piece of astute advice, LeRoy Tims has written a book expounding that theme. There is no magic formula for victory in Christ, but there are many biblical principles for spiritual warfare that will result in triumph for the committed Christian. Some of these are faith, obedience, courage, and the setting of right priorities. These principles are found in the experiences of the people of Israel in the Old Testament as they left Egypt to settle eventually in the Promised Land. Their exploits, including both their successes and failures, have been recorded in Scripture so that men of succeeding generations might have a pattern of godly 1iving on which to base their lives. There is no magic formula, but Christians today can prevail and Eve victoriously by following the directions given in the Word of God.
