Résumé : | Regeneration—the word and the concept—is seldom discussed in contemporary theology. Why? That is the question Helmut Burkhardt takes up in this second volume of the Outreach and Identity monograph series. Helmut Burkhardt suggests that the whole idea of regeneration is contrary to current philosophic assumptions. He discusses three representative theological perspectives on regeneration: reformation, liberal and dialectical. Then he examines the biblical material—the word regeneration and the concept of rebirth—concluding with a call to rediscover this doctrine and its implications for the church today. |
