Résumé : |
The key to Old Testament theology, suggests E.A. Martens, is God's fourfold purpose-deliverance, community, knowledge of God, and land. On the basis of texts reflecting successive periods of Israel’s history, he shows that this plan is consistently central to the Old Testament revelation. It extends, moreover, through the New Testament, and is at the heart of the Christian faith.
Taking the approach of biblical theology, the author begins with exegesis, allowing the Bible itself to outline the picture that emerges. His book will be valuable both to the student and to the more general reader seeking a dynamic introduction to Old Testament theology and religion. |
