Résumé : |
just how can Christians make sense of the Old Testament? Some scholars seem to treat it as nothing more than a source-book of Hebrew history and religion. Some preachers produce Christian teaching from it using such imagination and ingenuity that even a conjurer might envy them. But how is it possible to take the Old Testament seriously as a pre-Christian book and yet find Jesus Christ in its pages? Graeme Goldsworthy is an Australian Reformed scholar who has helped many students do just this. Applying a few basic principles, using diagrams and "specimen passages" to illustrate his meaning, he shows how any Christian can make sense of the Old Testament as a whole and experience its Christian relevance.
This "do-it-yourself" manual will appeal to all who want to cross the deep ravine separating Christians today from the original meaning of the Old Testament. |
