Praise! A Matter of Life and Breath is a study of the Psalms, the source book of praise to God. The first section—"Getting to Know the Psalms"—studies the origin of the Psalms and their special characteristics, such as their poetiy, their form, and the theme of praise. The second section—"Enjoying Special Psalms"— studies specific psalms so that the reader may joyfully participate in these experiences of worship. Dr. Allen combines scholarship with the warmth of personal experience to help us learn to praise God as only the Psalms can teach us to do. |
