"How do ecumenical statements actually come into being? Is it not important for their assessment to have a certain idea of the several steps within a complex dialogue process which lead to the formulation of ecumenical reports and declarations? This is why we have developed this volume, as a first attempt to glimpse into the 'workshop' of the Faith and Order Commission of the World Council of Churches.
"In this book we present the initial stages of the elaboration of a common ecumenical explication of the Creed of Nicea-Constantinople of 381. This explication forms a central part of our study 'Towards the Common Expression of the Apostolic Faith Today'." The book consists of an introductory section on "Fullness of Faith", followed by the three parts, dealing with the First, Second and Third Articles of the Ecumenical Creed. |
