| Résumé : | The Muslim world claims that its scripture, the Qur'an, has been divinely preserved from any form of alteration, interpolation, omission or variation in reading from the time of its initial deliverance. A survey is made of the earliest records on the compilation of the Qur’an to show that there were various phases in the development of the text before it was standardised into the form in which it is found today. |
