This book is the story of four remarkable men who shared a common sense of spiritual aims and ideals : David Brainerd, Henry Martyn, Robert Murray M'Cheyne, Ion Keith-Falconer.
Their lives covered the period from 1718 to 1887 and were linked with the missionary movement that had its birth in the religious awakening of the 18th century. They were pioneer missionaries, Brainerd with the Red Indians, M'Cheyne with the Jews in Palestine, Martyn and Keith-Falconer in the Moslem world of Persia and Arabia. |
