Résumé : |
Believing that experiences should be shared, Jack Rogers tells about the faith of his childhood and college years. He reflects upon its turning points and growth in reaction to his early experiences, his studies, his marriage and parenthood, the people he met, and his service to the church both in Europe and at home.
Dr. Rogers then defines an “evangelical center”, willing both to appropriate the values of traditional teachings and to learn from all the experiences of life. He says, “To care about both conversion and growth is evangelical”. He details, in an easy and intimate style, his own deductions from his contacts with people and with theology, and his growth in social concern. “To be evangelical is to learn from the past, to bear witness to an ever new and deepening faith in Christ in the present, and to be open to the future God has for us.” |
