Résumé : |
In this brief volume the major trends in contemporary Old Testament scholarship are clearly set forth and analyzed with rare precision. Professor Hasel goes on to propose seven suggestive criteria that determine what he would call a multiplex approach to Old Testament theology, the method which he feels does the most justice to all the data.
This revised and enlarged edition incorporates several significant improvements, among them these: • Account is taken of five comprehensive Old Testament theologies to appear since the book’s first publication. • An entirely new chapter traces the origins of biblical theology back to the Reformation, setting the stage for the “current debate.” • Quotations in the text and footnotes previously cited in German are now translated into English. • The bibliography has been completely redone, expanding it greatly, updating it, and mâking it one of the most useful lists of books, articles, and monographs in Old Testament theology currently available. |
