| Résumé : | The author begins by showing how all the great Christian doctrines are foreshadowed in the Old Testament and, indeed, cannot be fully understood without a knowledge of the background which this part of the Bible supplies. Next he devotes a chapter to the Christian’s use of the Old Testament for devotional purposes and follows this with a discussion of those elements in the earlier revelation which may be regarded as superseded by the teaching of Christ. Two chapters deal with the subject of Old Testament prophecy. In the first Dr. Atkinson draws attention to the extraordinarily detailed manner in which the life and work of our Lord are foretold. In the second he discusses some ot the major prophecies of the Old Testament which still await fulfilment. |
