Résumé : |
This sixth volume in the Lutherans and Catholics in Dialogue Series takes a new look at traditional assumptions and theological interpretations concerning papal infallibility and the teaching authority of the church.
Building on the foundation laid in volume five, Papal Primacy and the Universal Church, essays by the dialogue participants now explore the biblical, historical, and theological background of an area that has been a major issue between the churches. A Common Statement, with separate Roman Catholic and Lutheran reflections, stales the present level of consensus. Teaching Authority and Infallibility in the Church is published under the sponsorship of the U.S.A. National Committee of the Lutheran World Federation and the Roman Catholic bishops’ Commission on Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs. |
