The Tabernacle with all its component parts is one of the most interesting and minutely described subjects in Holy Scripture. Here every detail points as with an index finger to Christ and His work of atonement and redemption in order that a Holy God may dwell among His redeemed people in righteousness and peace.
Mr. Samuel Ridout was well gifted of God to put his Lectures on the Tabernacle into book form. Masterfully he expounds the depth of spiritual meaning with remarkable clarity and in great detail. Repeatedly in the exposition of this wonderful subject he brings the thoughtful reader as a worshiper into the presence of God. The book is also a scholarly work, well adapted for general reading and especially for classes in Bible schools and seminaries. The subject matter is treated cautiously and reverently, as well becomes such a theme. The minute and careful drawings by John Bloore, for visual aid to the text, were prepared under Mr. Ridout’s supervision. A very complete index at the end of the book enables the student to find readily every important comment in the book. |
