Résumé : |
This manual has been designed to give practice in solving the various problems which the Bible translator faces. Through drill practice, the student will develop skill in applying the principles of translation which he has learned in Translating the Word of God by John Beekman and John Callow and Discourse Considerations in Translating the Word of God by Kathleen Callow.
The value of this book is not in giving exact answers to every problem but in giving the student confidence in the awesome and enormous task of translating the Word of God into another language. As the student applies the principles he has learned, he becomes aware of the need for flexibility in the application of principles that are themselves precise. He will not only recognize the various problems that face a translator but he will also be aware of the options available to resolve the problems. This book is invaluable both for the development of basic skills and for the engendering of an eagerness and excitement that are essential for tireless and persistent work in the production of a dynamic translation. |
