Résumé : |
In the last few years we have heard much of John Wimber and his signs and wonders ministry. Thousands of Christians have attended his conferences, and hundreds of churches have attempted to implement his teaching. But what does it all mean and where is it leading us?
In Signs and Wonders John Gunstone provides a much-needed assessment of the whole movement. He places it in the context of the Pentecostal-charismatic renewal of the twentieth century, and analyses the teachings of John Wimber and the effect he has had on Christians in this country. Whatever we do, it is difficult to ignore John Wimber, and John Gunstone challenges us to ask frankly: ‘What is God teaching us through the “Wimber phenomenon” as we struggle to live and proclaim the gospel of the kingdom of God in modern society?’. |
