Eschatology is a term that readily comes to mind when one hears the name George Beasley-Murray. Professor Beasley-Murray has enriched the scholarly community for many years with studies on this theme, including his books, Jesus and the Future (1954), A Commentary on Mark 13, The Book of Revelation (New Century Bible Series, 1974), and his most recent contribution, Jesus and the Kingdom of God (1986). Now, in a Festschrift honoring Professor Beasley-Murray, it is only fitting that the common theme be eschatology.
It is equally fitting that Professor Beasley-Murray should be honored by eminent friends and colleagues whose work he has influenced. The essays not only mirror a theme close to Dr. Beasley-Murray, they also strive to reflect the kind of scholarship he has modelled for over three decades. |
