A new translation of the Bible is announced every few months. With each announcement comes a barrage of publicity. To hear the publishers or translators tell it, every previous translation suddenly has become obsolete. To complicate things, some new translations bring forth attacks by Christians who are convinced that they are dangerous and should not be used by devout Christians.
