Résumé : |
Dr. Martin, an American, spent fourteen years in England teaching history at a college near London, directed 450 college students over a five year period at a major archaeological excavation in Jerusalem, and the Education section of Time magazine for September 3, 1973 was devoted to him and his educational program relating to that excavation.
In this new book Dr. Martin shows what the Bible was like at its beginning. For the first time, the real manuscript order of the biblical books is given and the need for modern man to return to it. A revolution in biblical awareness would be possible if this were done. This book shows why this restoration is required and how a new respect for the Bible can be the result. The subject of this book is one of the most important facing biblical scholars today. Just what is the Bible? What was it like when it first left the hands of those who formed it? This book has many surprises in it. Among the most startling discoveries of this research study is the realization that the New Testament mentions its own canonization and it brings to light (for the very first time) the two individuals responsible for giving the New Testament to the world community. This book also describes the historical environment in which the Old and New Testaments came into existence. This new research gives a refreshing and common sense view that all people can appreciate. This book is also highly readable. Its contents are consistent with the principles of scholarly research while showing the Bible of the early apostles. This research can make the Bible a "new book" to its readers. Truly, the world needs "The Original Bible Restored." |
