Résumé : |
This book is presented to God’s ministers for their personal use. Its aim is to help all who read it gain a better understanding of the Quran. We hope to familiarise our readers with both the Islamic and Christian perspectives on this subject. Our intention is not to offend but to educate. May those who read this work become better equipped to expound the message of God, proclaimed by Jesus Christ, and to give a wise answer to all who inquire about the hope that is within them.
The material presented here is from a four-volume collection published in the early 1900’s: Al-Hidaya, “The True Guidance.” These four volumes refute the attacks against Christianity that were made in two previous Islamic texts: Izhar al-Haqq (“Disclosure of the Truth”) and Al-Sayf al-Hamidi al-Saqil (“The Furbished Hamidi Sword"). Most of the attacks against Christianity originated at the beginning of the nineteenth century - regrettably among Biblical scholars. This movement was called Higher and Lower Criticism. Conservative clergymen disputed these writings and proved their fallacy. Currently, the writings of the Biblical criticism movement are held in low esteem, yet Muslim scholars still cite them as if they were reliable. Furthermore, instructors in Arabic universities continue.to teach them, without providing students an opportunity to examine the refutations. We have quoted most of what was published in the four volumes called Al-Hidaya, and published it with many additions in three parts. Part One explains the sins of the prophets and the infallibility of revelation; Parts Two and Three provide Bible-based answers to Islamic attacks against the Old and New Testaments. Part Four is an introduction to the study of the Quran. Part Five will contain our comments on some Quranic verses. |
