This book is a critical assessment of the charismatic renewal by three people who acknowledge their individual indebtedness to it. They reflect very personally on what their encounter with the movement has meant to them. They then attempt an accessible theological critique of important contemporary aspects of the renewal and try to point a way foreward for its balanced theological development.
This new and expanded edition includes new chapters examining the controversial Toronto Blessing phenomenon and the rise of the “Health and Wealth” movement with its emphasis on a gospel of prosperity. |
