Résumé : |
The question, “What think ye of Christ?’’, presents a dilemma to any thoughtful person. If Jesus was not all that He claimed to be, then He was mentally unbalanced or He was the greatest deceiver who ever lived. Either we must accept Him as God made manifest in the flesh or reject Him as one who claimed to be what He was not, and to accomplish what only God could do. This book is intended to help you make this all-important decision. You owe it to yourself to examine the evidence and decide for yourself.
Intellectual honesty requires that you study the record carefully and without bias. One of the most important sections of that record is John 1.1-18, the portion of Scripture under consideration in this volume. If this section is understood, the rest of the New Testament record about the pre-existence of the Child of Bethlehem, His life, death, resurrection, ascension, and post-ascension ministry will be more clearly comprehended. Since this record was originally given in the Greek language, we have endeavored, in as much detail as we thought feasible, to explain and illustrate almost every word in these eighteen verses from the Nestle’s Greek Text of the New Testament. This study is not meant to satisfy the professional theologian and Greek scholar, who may have the ability to delve deeper into these verses and draw fuller truths and applications from them. Originally these messages were given over the special religious radio network known as “New Testament Light,” heard across the United States and beyond its borders. They were published in twelve booklets, with a circulation of many thousands of copies. Now they are presented in book form. |
