Prophecy is one of the most vibrant subjects of Scripture and many fine books have been written on it. But never one on prophecy in the ring. What do we mean by this term? Evangelical theologians and students of Scripture have long held tenaciously to particular views of future happenings. Much time and effort are spent in defense of the various views. The result is that evangelicals, who otherwise have so much in common, fiercely battle each other in less than Christian ways. And there is no question about it, prophecy is in the ring.
Why? We are going to find out in this study. We will try to discover a way for God’s people to hang up the gloves. Convictions? Yes, but let’s speak the truth in love. |
