How to rise above the all-too-strong reign of annoying personal sin.
This book does two things exceptionally well. First, as the title suggests, it instructs the reader how to rise above the reign of annoying personal sin. The author then tackles the two other super-powers that vie for control over us, death and Satan, and teaches us how to be free from their reign. Second, the book corrects common misconceptions of how to gain “Christian victory.” He takes on witnessing, “tube theology,” and promised spiritual experiences as often-posed “keys” to spirituality. Jon Braun brings the reader back to the bottom line of union with Jesus Christ as the answer. In an understandable manner seldom accomplished in print he clarifies what union with Christ means and how it affects our lives. The book is lively, solidly biblical, and even prophetic; it speaks directly to matters we all are battling. |
