Résumé : |
When John Walvoord entered Dallas Theological Seminary as a student in 1931, he never dreamed he would return someday as its second president. After graduation he served as a pastor, with a long-range goal of going to the mission field.
But the Lord had different plans. In seeking God’s will, he prayed about and accepted a job as registrar at Dallas Seminary. The job included sharing responsibilities in the Theology department, and his career in education was launched. “Be sure and take everything you can under Professor Walvoord” became upperclassmen’s advice to freshmen. His devotion for his students is reflected in remarks he made during chapel: “What I covet for you is the same experience that I had—of discovering God’s perfect will for your life. Nothing less, nothing more, nothing else. This is the place of supreme fulfillment, regardless of what it is ... May God grant that each one of us, as he spends his life, spend it exactly as God wants.” This volume is a tribute to John F. Walvoord, from men who were blessed by that prayer, and who count it a privilege to have studied and worked under him at Dallas Theological Seminary. |
