Résumé : |
The New Testament records the story of Jesus Christ and the birth of the church he founded. Does the church, then, need an Old Testament? If so, why? What is the relationship between the two Testaments which constitute our Bible?
This important book surveys the principal modern solutions to the problem (including those of Bultmann and Baumgärtel), thus providing an unparalleled work of reference to the on-going hermeneutical debate. The author makes his own contribution by arguing for a solution which draws on the research of Vischer and von Rad and incorporates a new approach to typology. He completes the study by discussing the idea of tension between continuity and discontinuity. |
