What do ecumenical and evangelical have to do with each other? In terms of actual dialogue, these two polarized camps have had all too little contact with one another. A self-confessed "evangelical ecumenical", Fackre believes that the two constituencies have much to learn from and the need to better understand one another. He takes up topics from the vantage point of evangelical-ecumenical convergence, and maps the evangelical terrain in such areas as biblical interpretation, the relation of Israel to Christianity, and the phenomenon of political fundamentalism. He concludes with a discerning examination of two representative figures, looking at Carl Henry from an ecumenical perspectives and at David Tracy from an evangelical perspective.
